Custom Order Process

Step 1 - Your Vision

Fill out the custom order form to tell us what you want to have created for you. We can custom build nearly any furniture down to the type of wood, stain, and dimensions you like.

You can provide all important details. Here are some examples of important details:

  • Your intended use for the furniture (e.g., a wine cabinet that can store 9 bottles, a dresser with 5 drawers, an end table with a drawer, etc.)
  • The precise measurements you need the furniture built to
  • If not a furniture item, consider the colors or style you would like
  • Indicate how many items you’d like to make (e.g., 2 end tables, 6 cutting boards, etc. 

Step 2 - Review & Design

We conduct a detailed and to-scale drawing for custom furniture and designs. 

If you are requesting a custom product that does not require a drawing (non-furniture item), we will review the details of your request and make sure we have or request all information needed to custom build. 

If you would like a type of stain, a sample may be sent to you to be agreed upon. 

We will consider the amount of time needed to handcraft your custom order and provide that information to you. 

Step 3 - Agreement

We will provide you with the final drawing, agreed upon details of the work, the timeframe in which is required to complete the project, and the quote for the final cost.

If necessary, the quote will include the mileage rate for delivery. Delivery is free within 35 miles of My Time Woodworking’s shop location (near Hermitage, TN). The mileage fee is calculated for every mile beyond 35 miles at a rate of 70 cents per mile to-and-from your address. 

The agreement will be sent to you in the form of a simple contract to be signed. 

A 50% non-refundable down payment is due before we can begin making your custom order.

Step 4 - Make & Deliver

We will handcraft your order to our high quality standards. Once finished, we will contact you to set up a time to deliver your custom order. 

We stand behind our workmanship. Upon delivery, you will be able to verify that the order was made to our agreement and free from workmanship defects. 

The remaining 50% of the custom order cost is due on the day we deliver your order to you.
